Located 8km north of Lake Tchitogama, this mountain which reaches 640 meters above sea level offers hikers a breathtaking view. You can contemplate the perimeter of Lac Saint-Jean as far as the mountains that border it as well as the towns that surround it. You should know that in the past, a tower was erected at the top of the mountain to monitor forest fires. Today, the tower is no longer there, but the breathtaking view of the region and the Péribonka River is still present.
Particularities
For lovers of long-distance hiking, the trail is accessible from the Pointe d’Appel sector (28km round trip).
For less trained walkers, a maritime crossing is available on the Péribonka river with a stop to make the trail of the assembly of the Tower (13km round trip). No continuous service. For more information, call 418-481-2229.
