Hiking

Let yourself be enchanted by nature!

In addition to being a reinvigorating free activity, and making us move, the trails of Alma Lac-Saint-Jean go through areas that are only accessible to pedestrians, which preserves the tranquility of the trails.

Enjoy the fresh air...

There are few places like this where the mountains tickle the sky and where, nearby, the water dances with the earth. It is neither a maritime, forest nor mountainous landscape. It is a little bit of all three and something else at the same time. A hike in Alma Lac-Saint-Jean is an encounter with the immensity of a territory and perspectives that change at every turn.

Hiking

A well-hidden secret in our forests

If you are looking to discover small unsung gems of Quebec, you are at the right place. Among the dozens of trails that have a scent of morning dew even in the afternoon, and the thousand and one mountains to climb to see the end of the world, it is necessary to stop at Lake Tchitogama in Lamarche.

With its trail that leads directly to the lake, you will be under the impression that time has stopped and that you have landed in miniature fjord. The information panels scattered along the 2.5 km-trail will tell you the tale of how this small place is in fact the bearer of Lac-Saint-Jean’s geographic history.

At Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, you will be fascinated by the kettles, a unique geographical phenomenon!

In Alma, the Grands Pins Blancs trail has preserved the characteristics of the area’s first forests. Moreover, it is interesting to know that white pine is the tallest tree species in Quebec and that it is the tree emblem of Ontario.

Don’t forget to bring your picnic to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of Lake Tchitogama.
