More snow, more snowmobile fun!

Mont-Apica, gateway to the Monts-Valin!

Powdery snow flying in the wind, blue skies shimmering on the white snow and breathtaking landscapes as far as the eye can see, that’s what snowmobiling in Alma Lac-Saint-Jean looks like.

Many trails are available in snowmobile paradise

Whether you wish to lose yourself in nature or along more urban areas, there is a trail for you.

From the city of Québec, take trail No. 23 heading downtown Alma, where you have direct access to accommodation and restaurants. This trail has you crossing Mont-Apica in the Réserve faunique des Laurentides.

Obviously, you get a privileged access to the Monts-Valin if you take trail No. 23. This trail will charm you with its breathtaking beauty.

You can also take the big or small trail around Lac-Saint-Jean for an exhilarating and memorable ride through its frozen landscapes.

More snow, more snowmobile fun!

An exceptional view

Finally, let’s not forget Mont-Apica and its raw landscapes, still almost untouched by human nature. Its snowmobile trails, with their rustic and authentic character, are like a walk back in time, a history lesson. A fun fact about the Mont-Apica is that it bears the name of a former military station of the 50s. What can be said about its summit, one of the highest in the region? A gazebo erected at an altitude of 884 km allows you to see as far as 50 km away and if you’re lucky, you might even see the lake! Finish your trip at the Mont-Apica stopover and enjoy its gourmet menu.

The hidden secrets of our snowmobile trips

Do you know why local and visiting snowmobilers are renowned to be the happiest in the world? It is because our region is like an endless ice desert shimmering under the midday sun.

In addition to having the longest snowmobiling season in Quebec, our trails are in the best of conditions because of the abundance of natural snow and the superior surfacing techniques used by our passionate teams.

To simplify your life during your snowmobiling adventures, you will come across many loop trails throughout the territory.

Things you shouldn’t forget

Whether you’re a veteran or a one-day amateur, it is always good to remember to bring along:

  • The snowmobiling map of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. You can order it in the Brochure section;
  • Your right of access (or think of buying one on-site);
  • A table of distances;
  • Heated pads;
  • Several layers of clothing;
  • Snowmobile rental information;
  • Fill up your gas tank before leaving;
  • Your chosen itinerary, unless you are going on a guided expedition.
